EIDOLON

More Than a Friend (MTAF) was the fine art and design studio of artists Krista Bursey and Jason Wasserman. Established in 2001-2009, MTAF had a mandate of creating experimental artwork that combined both artists’ respective skills and styles.

Eidolon (meaning a dream-state) was a multi-displinary show held in an abandoned arcade in Point St-Charles in Montreal. The space itself had existing murals from an old arcade highlighting pop iconic imagery from the late 80’s and early 90’s. The paintings were hung directly on top of the existing murals, so bright, pop and luring which were meant to engage the viewer on all senses. Once engaged, the feeling of uneasiness turns into a underlying disturbance. A self questioning that something isn’t quite right. The show consisted of paintings, performance and a interactive light installation.
