We perceive light against darkness, movement against stillness, the inner in relation to the outer. Each perspective reveals something the other cannot, questioning whether our perception of reality can ever be complete.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWithin \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eANAMORDIA\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, the Third is the only dimension situated on Earth, rooted in the ancient, otherworldly landscape of Bell Island, Newfoundland. The island's extraordinary geological layers hold a physical record of time, connecting the landscape to my Newfoundland ancestry spanning over 300 years. These layers reflect generations of inherited stories and memories that continue to evolve through my own identity and artistic practice.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTwo monumental paintings explore duality through separate locations on the island. One examines the relationship between the mythological \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOceanic Iceberg Goddess\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and the physical landscape, while the other presents her across past, present, and future, with a shifting digital face suggesting realities beyond the physical.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe two locations are connected by a passage through a cave—the womb of the mountain—where a soundscape was recorded to bridge the opposing landscapes and explore the possibility of transcending duality. The Goddess's voice carries the mantras \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMA\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOM\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, while two gongs extend the experience through sound and resonance. The lightning-filled sky references the mysterious \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBell Island Boom\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, reimagined as a symbol of emerging consciousness.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCentral to the Third is \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eliminality\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e—the threshold between identities, where we are no longer who we once were, yet have not fully become who we are becoming.
